"Water Life"
SPARK Photo Festival - Themed Juried Exhibit – Water 2023
This image explores the nature of water: its flow, its density and its ethereal essence. So many aspects of the world around us are overlooked in the hustle and bustle of everyday. It is wonderful to slow down and try to understand them while capturing the moment to share with others.
I was honoured to receive this award from Beach Photo Club in Toronto. I’ve never been one to stick to just one type of photography—there’s just too much to capture out there. It feels amazing to be recognized for embracing variety and always trying something new.
This award took me by surprise, but of course I am thrilled to be recognized in this way. The image this award is based on is several years old and in the intervening years I believe that I have upped my game. I love being out at night with my camera and tripod looking for and imaging celestial events such as the Aurora, comets, meteors and lunar eclipses.
